Akua Akyaa Nkrumah (@AkyaaN) is currently a Process Engineer at Waste Enterprisers. Prior to working at Waste Enterprisers Akua was a consultant with SkyFox Limited, a consulting firm for Water, Sanitation and Health. She completed her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and Technology at the University of Maryland-College Park in 2012. Akua is very involved in the Ghanaian blogging community and is passionate about water, sanitation, recycling and renewable energy. She is also currently concluding independent research as lead researcher for Tseai Energy Unlimited, a start-up business linking agriculture, renewable energy for rural African communities, and social innovation. This research targets the production of biogas and electricity using feedstocks such as palm oil mill effluent and various forms of organic waste.
Akua Nyame-Mensah (ANM) (@akukuu) has a master’s degree in City Planning, with a concentration in land use and environmental planning, from the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree in Growth and Structure of Cities from Bryn Mawr College. She has worked on several agribusiness projects since returning to Accra in the summer of 2012. Prior to working in Accra she was an environmental stewardship AmeriCorps volunteer in Olympia, Washington.
Raphael Berchie (@ralphb87) is a prospective Masters in Climate Change and Sustainable Development student at the University of Ghana. He holds a Bsc in Consumer Sciences and is currently a research assistant at the Department of Consumer Sciences at the University of Ghana. Raphael is very passionate about the environment and hopes to be an Environmental Lawyer in the near future.
